Felon charged with murder in West Oakland shooting

(KRON) — A convicted felon who allegedly shot and killed a San Leandro man in West Oakland on May 31 was identified Tuesday by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

Shacory Carnell Daniels, 39, was arraigned Monday on the charge of murder in Alameda County Superior Court. The victim was allegedly shot by Daniels around 2:45 a.m. as he walked to his car in the area of 14th and Harrison streets, according to prosecutors. The victim later died at the hospital.

Daniels faces a special allegation of felony murder “because the homicide took place in the course of an attempted robbery,” the DA’s office wrote. He also faces special allegations for personal and intentional discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
