An industrial building in North San Jose appeared to be just another piece of Silicon Valley’s commercial landscape. On weekends, however, police say it transformed into an underground nightclub where guests paid admission, entered without age verification and gathered without the permits required for a legal entertainment venue.
That operation has now been shut down.
The San Jose Police Department said its Vice Unit launched an extensive investigation after receiving numerous complaints about the building in the 1600 block of Rogers Avenue. Calls connected to the location reportedly included an assault with a deadly weapon, pushing the case beyond an ordinary dispute over noise or business paperwork.
