MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — There were few cases of the Mondays to go around as about 17,000 fans packed Shoreline Amphitheatre for a marquee hard rock triple bill led by Evanescence.
The Bay Area has been a frequent stop for Amy Lee and company throughout the band’s more than two-decade career, but this particular show felt like one of the most complete sets the group has delivered. Touring in support of its new album, Sanctuary, the band clearly believes in the material, particularly Lee herself. That belief is not unfounded. Sanctuary finds Evanescence reinvigorated and delivering one of the year’s better rock records.
