A woman walking in the southbound lanes of a Northern California freeway was killed after being struck by two separate motorists, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The incident occurred Aug. 7 at about 1:30 a.m. on the West Valley Freeway, also known as Highway 85, south of Camden Avenue in San Jose.
CHP investigators said the woman was initially struck in the middle-right lane by a driver behind the wheel of a Honda Civic. She was then struck by a driver in a Honda HR-V after landing in the roadway, according to SFGATE.
Responding paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The first driver pulled onto the shoulder and called 911, remaining at the scene until first responders arrived. The second driver exited the freeway before pulling over and calling for help. Investigators do not suspect either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, CHP said…
