OAKLAND, CA — A suspect with a criminal history is charged with the murder of a victim found buried in Oakland. Sergio O. Flores, 42, of Berkeley, has remained in custody at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail since his arrest on August 26. Flores is ineligible for release on bond.
Oakland officers found the victim’s body in a decomposed state on June 9. It was buried near a homeless encampment on the 500 block of 34th Street. “The victim was bound and had duct tape covering his face,” a prepared statement from the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said.
