An 84-year-old San Jose woman has been identified as the driver killed after her SUV crashed through a parking garage wall in downtown Honolulu and plunged five stories onto a sidewalk below.
Sandra Sato died Friday afternoon after the crash at a condominium complex at 1088 Bishop St. Her identity was confirmed Monday by a spokesperson for the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner.
The crash occurred around 2:28 p.m. Friday as Sato was driving north on the fifth floor of the parking structure, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
