Driver saved in daring helicopter rescue after failing to forge raging California creek

This morning witnessed a successful water rescue operation at Lake Del Valle, where a collaborative effort involving the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Helicopter, Alameda County Fire, Pleasanton-Livermore Fire, East Bay Regional Parks, San Ramon Fire Department Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT), and Falck Ambulance saved an occupant stranded on top of an overturned vehicle in a flowing creek.

The emergency response was initiated following a report of a vehicle overturn at Lake Del Valle, with the occupant perched atop the vehicle in the midst of a swiftly moving creek. The challenging circumstances required a coordinated effort from various agencies to ensure a prompt and safe rescue.

As firefighters prepared for a water rescue operation, the CHP Helicopter, along with the San Ramon Valley Fire Department Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT), swiftly arrived on the scene. The skilled HRT member was lowered from the helicopter to the stranded vehicle, where the victim was securely harnessed for extraction.
