In a distressing incident on January 30, 2024, at approximately 11:39 AM, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a traffic collision on the southbound lanes of Interstate 880, near the West Warren Avenue On-ramp in Fremont.
According to CHP reports, the collision involved a vehicle that ended up in a ditch.
The Alameda County Fire Department, along with emergency medical services, were swiftly dispatched to the scene. At 11:40 AM, the first responders were en route to provide aid.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a challenging situation, with the vehicle reportedly sustaining significant damage. The Alameda County Fire Department indicated that there was a live dog present in the rear of the vehicle.
As of 11:48 AM, multiple fire units were on-site, actively addressing the situation. Authorities communicated that the involved party was unfortunately in a fatality.
Additionally, they promptly requested the assistance of Animal Control to manage the live dog found at the scene.
