One person dead after tree falls into Boulder Creek home, deputies say

BOULDER CREEK, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Santa Cruz County Sherriff’s Office and the Boulder Creek Fire Department confirmed that one person is dead after a tree fell into their home on Sunday afternoon.

According to deputies, the tree fell into a home on the 14100 block of Highway 9 around 3:20 p.m. Firefighters said that two people were inside the home at the time that the tree fell.

One person was able to make it out of the house but the other person was trapped inside the home.

Deputies confirmed that the person sustained injuries from the tree falling into the home and was pronounced dead at the scene.

We have checked with the Sheriff’s Office to see if the person that died was an adult and we are waiting to hear back.
