A fast-moving exterior fire on the 500 block of Spartan Court in South San José sent smoke and sirens through the neighborhood yesterday, briefly turning a quiet block into a full-on emergency scene. The blaze threatened three nearby structures but was brought under control by 3:49 PM, according to the San José Fire Department.
