CAMPBELL, CA — “The Campbell Police Department has arrested a suspect following a barricade incident that occurred this morning (5/4) in the area of White Oaks, stemming from a domestic violence and robbery investigation that occurred the previous evening (5/3).
On Sunday evening, May 3rd, officers responded to a report involving a domestic disturbance between the male suspect and female who are in a dating relationship. During the incident, the suspect, identified as Andre Abeyta, 40, transient, forcibly took the victim’s cell phone as she attempted to call 911 and physically assaulted her, causing visible injuries to her face. The suspect then fled the area with the victim’s phone. Based on the investigation, a felony affidavit was issued for the suspect’s arrest.
At approximately 6:43 a.m. this morning, officers located the suspect inside a vehicle that was partially covered with a tarp. A high-risk stop was initiated, and officers issued repeated commands for the suspect to exit the vehicle. The suspect failed to comply and attempted to further conceal himself inside the vehicle, resulting in a barricaded situation…
