SAN JOSE — A project to convert an existing hotel into a new residential complex could produce more than 100 apartment units in San Jose.
Documents on file with city planners show the conversion of the Caravelle Inn & Suites hotel at 1310 North First St. would occur in two phases.
The first would convert the existing 58-room hotel at the corner of North First Street and East Rosemary Street to 58 apartments, planning files show. These would consist of 52 residential studios and six other housing units.
