A Larkfield house rebuilt after the 2017 Tubbs Fire was heavily damaged by another blaze yesterday, with firefighters estimating the loss at about $500,000. Two adults escaped before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.
The fire began outside the Pacific Heights Drive home before spreading into the attic, according to The Press Democrat. Sonoma County Fire District spokesperson Sky Guild said crews made an aggressive attack and protected neighboring homes, while the cause was not immediately available.
The property’s history gives the incident an especially sharp edge: The home had been destroyed in the Tubbs Fire and later rebuilt, only to be hit by another serious fire less than a decade later. Fire officials yellow-tagged the residence as unsafe to occupy until repairs are completed.
