A blue Honda sedan allegedly tore through Petaluma traffic on Monday afternoon, with callers reporting red-light violations and at least one collision with a parked vehicle. Police stopped the driver before the chaotic run could turn into a more serious crash, and no injuries were reported.
According to KSRO’s report, citing the Petaluma Argus-Courier, officers responded after receiving multiple calls about the sedan driving recklessly through the city. The driver was intercepted near Petaluma Boulevard North and East Washington Street.
Police identified the driver as Jessie Nielson, a 34-year-old Rohnert Park man. Officers said Nielson failed field sobriety tests and was driving with a suspended license, then booked him into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.
