Publix is one of the South’s favorite grocery stores. It’s a well-earned reputation, because where else can you order steam fresh seafood while you shop and sliced bread just the way you like it? Soon, more people will be able to try Publix’s Key Lime Pie, fried chicken, and herbs, and start perfecting their Pub Sub orders. That’s because the Southern grocery store is expanding by opening new locations in two states.
According to Publix’s New Store Openings page, the chain is opening a new location in Cold Spring, Kentucky and four new stores in Florida, including spots in Bradenton, Davenport, Winter Haven, and one of our favorite beach spots, Fernandina Beach. Yes, that means an easy Pub Sub picnic at the beach, dot cake dupes for dessert, and a baked goods buffet for afterwards.
The openings are scheduled to take place between June 11 and July 2 and will expand the chain’s footprint in the South. The grocer currently operates more than 1,400 stores across eight states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia…
