MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – 50-year-old Mickey McGuire appeared in court Friday morning, where a judge denied bond and ordered pretrial detention. The judge said the evidence is “overwhelming” that McGuire attempted murder and later led law enforcement on what detectives described as a dangerous, destructive chase.
“Therefore, this defendant will be held on pretrial detention on the charge of attempted murder with a firearm pending resolution of this matter,” Judge Teri Dees said.
