Morning Sun, then Afternoon Storms Pop Up

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Suncoast could use every drop we can get right now. Much of the Suncoast remains in extreme drought, and June has been running unusually dry. The good news is the weather pattern is becoming a little more helpful for afternoon thunderstorms.

Starting Saturday, skies are mostly sunny and hot to start, followed by a chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Some storms could be briefly strong where the sea breeze runs into other boundaries, and heavy rain would be the main thing to watch. Sunday looks similar. Expect plenty of sun early, more heat, and another round of afternoon showers and storms. It will not rain everywhere, but any neighborhood that gets one of those slow-moving downpours could pick up some much-needed drought relief.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK – NEXT 7 DAYS

For the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf – Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days. Only 156 days left in Hurricane Season.
