RUSKIN, Fla. – A suspect who allegedly held his ex-girlfriend hostage overnight shot and wounded two Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies during an ambush in Ruskin on Thursday afternoon before a third deputy shot and killed him.
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, the incident began Thursday morning when a woman arrived at a sheriff’s office substation to request an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend, Chris Dmuchowski.
The woman told investigators that Dmuchowski had entered her home on Wednesday, tied her hands with zip ties, shoved a sock in her mouth, taped it shut, and held her at gunpoint while threatening her life.
