According to Pulse of Manatee, marine deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office responded Saturday morning to reports of a large debris field in the Manatee River near the DeSoto Bridge and removed a significant amount of floating material from the channel. The source of the debris remains unknown, and deputies coordinated with the Palmetto Police Department as they work to figure out how it ended up in the river.
