VENICE — Public reaction to a meeting last month among city staff, a city consultant and representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration has some members of the City Council concerned that trust among residents has ebbed again.
The Council heard dozens of comments earlier this year at Council meetings and airport master plan sessions about noise, fumes and pollution from air traffic that were at least somewhat addressed by a vote to authorize an environmental study of the facility, as numerous residents requested.
But a briefing prepared for the FAA meeting, which occurred while the Council was on its summer break, may have undermined the goodwill it generated…
