Since a ceremonial groundbreaking eight months ago, the site work has been completed and $59.8 million raised for Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Master Plan Phase 2. With the recently announced $41.9 million bond sale, the project is now set to go vertical with its new conservatory complex, learning pavilion and landscape features.
The philanthropic effort represents 98% of Selby’s capital campaign goal toward the second of three phases to thoroughly transform its downtown campus.
The cumulative total of funds raised for both phases has exceeded $127 million, including nearly $10 million for endowment, with 99% of all funds from private philanthropy. The proceeds from the bond sale allow Selby Gardens to proceed with the construction…
