SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Have you noticed the shorter days? You will! As we move into September, we lose one minute of daylight every day, just on our sunset times! Hello Autumn (almost).
Starting Saturday, we’ll see a few scattered showers and storms develop, mainly in the afternoon hours. A sea breeze pushing over the coastal counties will increase storm activity late in the day, with a few storms potentially turning strong with damaging wind gusts.
Highs will hover in the low 90s before storms develop. The heat index will make it feel closer to 103, so stay hydrated if you’re heading outside.
Sunday into next week will see more widespread showers and storms developing each afternoon. A few heavy storms could develop with a chance for some minor street flooding or ponding on roads.
