Sand dune replacement on Lido Beach to begin this month

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Work to restore sand dunes along Lido Beach is set to begin Sept. 21, the City of Sarasota announced Tuesday.

Beach users can expect to see equipment gathering on the beach as early as Sept. 14.

The project will place about 3,000 cubic yards of sand onto Lido Beach to create more than a mile of sand dunes. Florida-friendly vegetation will then be planted to anchor and protect the newly restored dunes…
