Sheriff’s Office traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges against Sarasota man

Frazier released from jail on total bond of $35,150

A traffic stop resulted in a 31-year-old Sarasota man being charged with possessing “large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl,” the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has reported.

Marcus Dontario Rashaan Frazier, of 2413 19th St., was arrested on Sept. 22, the Sheriff’s Office said, after officers observed that his vehicle “had dark window tint which appeared to be darker than the legal limit,” Frazier’s Probable Cause Affidavit says.

During that traffic stop, the news release noted, officers found the following inside the Kia sedan he was driving:

  • 30.8 grams of suspected MDMA, also known as Ecstasy.
  • 8.4 grams of fentanyl.
  • 25.3 grams of cocaine.
  • 11.9 grams of methamphetamine.
  • 2.0 grams of marijuana.
  • 8.4 grams of rock cocaine.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Frazier “was renting a hotel room along University Parkway,” the release continued.
