SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival was held Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park, drawing more than 1,300 participants, organizers said, as part of a monthlong slate of major aquatic sports events in the region.
The festival is one of four April competitions hosted by Nathan Benderson Park in partnership with Visit Sarasota County, which officials said were expected to bring more than 5,600 athletes and thousands of visitors to Sarasota County.
The April schedule also included the USA Swimming Open Water National and Junior National Championships (April 2-4), the Florida Scholastic Rowing Association Sculling Championships (April 11-12) and the FSRA State Sweep Championships (April 25-26)…
