SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Students and teachers hosted a “Stop the Cuts” rally in Sarasota on Tuesday to protest the downsizing of educational staff across the district.
Sarasota County Schools says that 136 teachers and educational staff will be “unassigned” across the district starting June 30th, due to budget and low enrollment.
“I think these children, some are happy to have a classroom with no supervision and to sit on their phones and have no accountability.
