From 2024 murder conviction to cold case link, Sarasota career criminal gets life sentence

SARASOTA, Fla. (CBS12) — A Sarasota man was awaiting sentencing in a 2024 murder case when detectives linked him to a 1999 cold case earlier this year. He was sentenced to life for the 2024 murder on Monday.

Following a four-day trial in Sarasota, 55-year-old Kevin Maurice Holloway was found guilty Monday of first-degree premeditated murder and multiple other charges stemming from a Fourth of July shooting in 2024 outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors say that around 12:30 a.m. Holloway made threats before leaving and returning 40 minutes later in a ski mask armed with a gun…
