Manatee County Utilities launches bulk collection pilot program

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County Utilities launched a new Bulk Collection Pilot Program on May 1 for residential solid waste customers in unincorporated Manatee County.

Under the pilot program, residents can place up to two bulk items at the curb once a month on a scheduled collection day based on their zone. County officials said the service expansion will provide a total of 12 curbside bulk pickups each year, with no added fees or changes to utility bills.

Residents also will be eligible for one annual bulk pickup of up to 10 cubic yards. According to the county, some items, including tires, appliances and the annual bulk pickup, must be scheduled in advance through the Customer Self-Service Portal at mymanatee.org/css.
