SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Sarasota family is mourning the loss of a 10-year-old boy who has died nearly two years after he was critically injured in a crash involving a Sarasota police officer.
Gerald Butler was 8 years old when he was struck by a Sarasota Police Department patrol vehicle in October 2024 near the intersection of 23rd Street and Maple Avenue, police said.
