SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is preparing to enforce new restrictions on student electronic use ahead of a statewide requirement set to take effect in Georgia schools.
The district recently approved locking phone pouches and storage lockers that will be used to limit student access to personal electronic devices during the school day beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
The move comes after Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation requiring all Georgia public schools to implement a bell-to-bell ban on personal electronic devices during instructional hours. The statewide requirement is scheduled to begin in the 2027-2028 school year…
