Two people were displaced after a June 2 house fire in Burton, fire officials said.
The Burton Fire District, Marine Corps Air Station Fire and Emergency Services, Beaufort County EMS and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire around 9 a.m. on Lemon Lane. The fire, officials said, was reported when the resident returned home to find the home full of smoke.
“Firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke coming from a single wide mobile home,” Burton Fire District Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Byrne said. “Fire crews entered the home, extinguished the fire, and while they were told no one was inside, completed a search of the home in an abundance of caution.”…
