SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The sound of church bells will echo across downtown Savannah this Independence Day as churches and civic institutions take part in a nationwide tribute marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
At noon on Saturday, July 4, participating locations have been invited by the Savannah 250th Declaration of Independence Commission to ring their bells for 10 minutes, commemorating the moment the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776.
