SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Hutchinson Island is changing quickly with new homes, apartments, a marina and major hotel development already transforming the Island. However, the blueprint guiding much of that growth is more than 20 years old.
Hutchinson Island is unique. It is separated from downtown Savannah by the Savannah River – which is roughly a quarter mile. There are no gas stations, no grocery stores, no independent restaurants and no fire stations.
