SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — An unsettled weather pattern is expected to remain over the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry for several more days.
A few isolated showers are possible early Tuesday morning with low temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s inland. Low temperatures near the coast may only cool into the upper 70s.
Scattered showers and isolated storms will become more likely during the later morning and through the afternoon. Pockets of heavy rain are possible. Afternoon high temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s are forecast.
A strong onshore breeze will be gusting over 25 mph on Tuesday, leading to elevated high tide cycles. Some minor coastal flooding is possible Tuesday evening. The high tide for Fort Pulaski is forecast to reach minor flood stage of 9.5′ at 6 p.m.
Elevated rain and storm chances will remain through Thursday as a trough of low pressure is over the southeastern U.S. High temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s are expected through Thursday.
Drier and hotter conditions are forecast to develop by Friday and for the weekend. High temperatures will be running slightly above normal in the lower 90s. Higher heat index values over 100°F are possible.
