Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will begin intermittent single-lane closures on the U.S. 17/S.R. 404 Spur Bridge, commonly known as the Talmadge Memorial Bridge, beginning Thursday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 25.
The weekday closures will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will affect only one direction of travel — northbound or southbound — at a time. At least one lane will remain open to traffic throughout the work.
The temporary closures will allow crews to conduct surveys and inspections in preparation for cable replacement work expected to begin later this year.…
