Water Mission, a Christian engineering nonprofit, will host its 10th annual Walk for Water in Beaufort County, with two chances for the community to make an impact—Sept. 19 in Port Royal and Oct. 3 in Bluffton.
Since 2017, the Beaufort County community has come together to raise awareness of the global water crisis and support Water Mission’s efforts to implement safe water solutions worldwide. The event is free to join, but walkers are asked to register online.
Roughly 2.1 billion people—nearly 25 % of the world’s population—lack access to clean, safe water for drinking, hygiene, and sanitation. The Walk for Water in Beaufort County simulates the daily reality of millions of people worldwide who walk miles each day to collect water that is often unsafe.
