TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) – Volunteers gathered at the Tybee Pier for this year’s International Coastal Cleanup, an annual event aimed at keeping local waterways safe.
Tim Arnold, founder of Fight Dirty Tybee, said this marked the 10th year the group participated in the cleanup.
“It’s sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy, and it’s a clean-up that happens globally where people clean up their local waterways, and they get hundreds of thousands of volunteers to come out,” Arnold said. “We do it every year, same weekend in September down here at the Tybee Pier.”
