SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The City of Savannah celebrated the official completion of the DeLesseps Avenue Widening Project with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday at Edgemere/Sackville Community Park at Cedar Street and DeLesseps Avenue.
Mayor Van R. Johnson II, City Manager Jay Melder, District 3 Alderwoman Linda Wilder-Bryan and community partners attended to mark the opening of the $9 million project.
The project spans Delesseps Avenue from Waters Avenue to Skidaway Road. The city said it was designed to address long-standing mobility and safety challenges along the corridor.
