Family and service: 114th Fighter Wing welcomed home from deployment

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The 114th Fighter Wing of the South Dakota Air National Guard returned home this week from months of deployment in Savannah, Georgia. Their efforts were part of Operation Noble Eagle, staying combat-ready to defend home. It supports NORAD’s mission to protect airspace in the United States and Canada. On Sunday morning, a special ceremony gave them a proper welcome home.

For those who answer the call to serve their country and community, a work-life balance can include a long time away from home. That’s what makes returning so special. It’s a family reunion of sorts, sometimes literally.
