SAA students speak out after teacher suspended without pay

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Students and the community are rallying to support a Savannah Arts Academy (SAA) teacher after she was allegedly suspended without pay because of art pieces her students created.

Magen Peigelbeck is a ceramics artist and teacher in the visual arts department at Savannah Arts. According to sources, her suspension stems from a student art exhibition that took place on Feb. 27, where two students reportedly created an art piece that criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following a deadly crash that ended the life of a Savannah teacher.
