PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Drivers out and about this weekend should allow some extra time as five Phoenix-area freeways will be shut down.
Northbound State Route 51 (SR 51) will be closed between the Interstate 10 “Mini-Stack” interchange and Indian School Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for the pavement improvement project. All I-10 and Loop 202 ramps to northbound SR 51 will also be shut down. Drivers can use Interstate 17 to head north or take surface streets such as 16th, 24th or 32nd streets.
The eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between Alma School and Cooper roads in the Chandler area from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project. The closure includes southbound Loop 101 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 and eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Price and Dobson roads…
