With companies like the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company building a new facility in Phoenix, the Valley is quickly turning into a global hub for microchip manufacturing, and Scottsdale will soon be part of that picture.
ASM, a global company founded in the Netherlands that makes machines that make semiconductor chips, announced plans in September 20024 to move its North American headquarters from Phoenix to Scottsdale, and that vision could be complete by early next year, according to a spokeswoman for the company.
