Gilbert police find missing child

The Gilbert Police Department has located a “missing and endangered” 8-year-old girl and confirmed she is safe with family out of state.

The child, identified as 8-year-old Zariah Lum, had been last seen with her father, Malcolm Lum.

Both were last seen at aout 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, near North Gilbert Road and East Houston Avenue in Gilbert. Police received the report she was missing at about 11:15 a.m. April 25.

Police sent notice at 8 p.m. April 25 that she had been found safe.
