Arizona air quality warning in effect as weather shifts ahead

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An air quality alert is in effect Saturday due to elevated ozone levels. This is not related to the fire in Buckeye, but residents there and across the West Valley should remain aware of drifting smoke from that brush fire. We’ll continue to monitor conditions closely.

Temperatures have climbed to 94 degrees so far. Expect a mild evening, with lows settling into the low- to mid-70s. Sunday will be warm and breezy, featuring partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 90s. Wind gusts in the Valley could reach 25 mph at times.

A weather system arriving Monday will bring cooler conditions, with highs dropping into the mid-80s and gusts around 20 mph. Even cooler air moves in Tuesday—just in time for Cinco de Mayo—with highs ranging from the upper 70s to the low 80s…
