If you’ve been coming up with the traffic alerts for the Shreveport/Bossier area of late, you’re aware that next Tuesday, June 23, DOTD is going to be doing some concrete repair work on I-49 southbound near Bert Kouns.

Due to the nature of that work, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Turns out, this project to repair some heat-related concrete blow ups is only the tip of the iceberg that will further congest traffic in this area all of next week.
In the latest notice from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development we learn that the following ramp and lane closures in Caddo Parish have been scheduled to allow for routine bridge inspections to take place:
- Monday, June 22: Full ramp closure – I-49 northbound ramp to LA 3132 westbound
- Tuesday, June 23: Full ramp closure – I-49 northbound ramp to LA 3132 eastbound
- Wednesday, June 24: Full ramp closure – I-49 southbound ramp to LA 3132 eastbound
- Thursday, June 25: Full ramp closure – LA 3132 westbound ramp to I-49 northbound
- Friday, June 26: Lane closures only – US 71 (N. Market St) northbound and southbound bridge over Twelve Mile Bayou in downtown Shreveport
- Saturday, June 27: Lane closure only – I-20 westbound over MP railroad near Town of Greenwood
These ramp and lane closures are anticipated to be in place from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.
Please drive with caution through the bridge inspection zones, and remain alert for specialized equipment and crews that will be on site…
