SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – A group of new U.S. citizens were sworn in at the Strand in Shreveport on Wednesday, with the ceremony taking place as part of America 250, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary this July 4th.

Mustafa Ergun, who is from Turkey, described the day as the fulfillment of a long-held goal.
“This is the moment that the dream come true, so I learned a lot of things in this great country,” Ergun said. “I feel excited to be part of the history of America. I have studied a lot. I am even more exuberant to be part of it.”
