Shreveport mayor says gunshot detection isn’t the answer to crime

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting at a Shell gas station over the weekend.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux says gunshot detection technology would not have made a difference in that shooting and is not worth the cost.

The mayor says that to stop crime, the city needs to know where a crime will happen before it starts, and he does not believe gunshot detection can do that…
