Angola inmate Charles Ray Edwards of Shreveport, 66, appeared before members of the Louisiana Committee on Parole and Board of Pardons on Wednesday morning, and two years after a failed attempt, he got the news he wanted.
By a required 3-0 vote, Edwards was granted conditional parole from his jail sentence for the 2004 homicide of Vickie Jordan Brown during a night of drug use he described at the hearing.
“She did not bring it about,” Edwards said. “What occurred that particular night, she didn’t deserve. It was a very selfish act on my part.”…
