SHREVEPORT, La. — A fast response by Shreveport firefighters prevented a apartment fire from spreading beyond a single unit at the Wellington Square Apartments on Jewella Avenue Sunday morning.
Crews were dispatched to reports of smoke and flames in the 1800 block of Jewella Avenue at 9:24 a.m. Engine 8 arrived three minutes later, finding active smoke and fire inside the residence.
Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack, bringing the blaze under control by 9:42 a.m.
A total of 10 units and 30 personnel responded to the scene to secure the building, search for occupants, and clear remaining hotspots…
