United Cajun Navy in Shreveport lending support to family of mass shooting victims

Folks from United Cajun Navy are in Shreveport lending support and bereavement services for family members of the eight children killed and two women shot in Sunday’s devastating domestic murder spree.

UC Navy is a Baton Rouge nonprofit that deploys resources in the wake of disasters and shootings to aid recovery and rescue and lend support in rebuilding and humanitarian assistance, according to their website.

Their chaplain, Toney Dickey, has been in Shreveport providing bereavement services for the family and distributing “Comfort Cubs,” which are therapeutic weighted teddy bears that provide touch pressure therapy to “help offset that depression, anxiety, broken heart syndrome,” he told The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate…
